Boudhanath

This Buddhist stupa was established by King Man Deva on the guidance of the Goddess Mani Jogini. The stupa is encircled by the homes of Monks, or Buddhist priests.

Swayambhunath

It is situated about 3km from the center of Kathmandu. This Buddhist stupa is believed to be as old as 2000 years. The shrine forms the main structure and is made up of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth which backs a lofty conical spire covered by a peak of golden copper.

The stupa is painted four sided. At the lower base of the spire you will find the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The entire area round the Stupa comprises of a group of small stupas and temples. This is one of the greatest places to see in the Kathmandu valley, as it is located on a small hill.

Nagarkot

Nagarkot is located about 35Km. east of Kathmandu city and one can easily see iconic Mt. Everest and other peaks of the Himalayas. It is situated amid the Kathmandu valley in the west and Indravati in the east.
